From a long time, we have seen and heard women facingtroubles in society.
But it is a lesser-known and accepted fact that men too facea lot of stereotypes that make it harder for them to survive in society.
They are supposed to be stronger, emotionless, tall, leanand whatnot.
This is NOW YOU KNOW and today in this video let's watchsome of the stereotypes men have to face and listen every now and then –
4. Pink cannot be men's favourite colour
People have categorized colours according to gender, like, blue is for men and pink is for women. While women's preference for bluecolour over pink is accepted happily, men choosing pink over blue colours areconsidered effeminate. People need to accept the fact that the choice of aparticular colour doesn't define a man's masculinity and he must be free tochoose and wear any colour he wants to.
3. Men are supposed to be the bread earner of thefamily
In this patriarchal society, where men are believed to besuperior to women, they are many times judged from their designation and theamount of money they earn irrespective of the qualities and talents they have.
They must not be pressurized and burdened at every step oftheir life with the responsibility of earning for their families. Even thechoice of being a Home-husband or an earner should be on them.
2. An ideal man should be tall, dark, and handsome
Tall, dark, lean, andhandsome with biceps and six-pack abs, this is how an ideal man should looklike according to people.
It's high time when people need to realize that the physicaltraits of a man don't define him and he should not be obligated to changehimself according to the norms and conditions set by the society. Short, tall, chubby, skinny, fair or dark, they must be accepted just the way they arewithout being judged on the basis of their colour, shape, and size.
1. Men don't cry
Right from childhood, boys and men aretaught not to cry. As they grow up, they evidently start hiding their emotionswhich takes a toll on their both mental and physical health.
As ahuman, they too must be free to show their emotions and vent out their heartwithout being judged at all.
Allow them to be vulnerable and accept menjust the way they are.
