This is Now You Know and Here are 5 easy tips that would help you to keep your house cool-cool.
1) Cover the rooms with curtains
To prevent the direct sunlight entering your room, it's important to keep the room covered with curtains and windows closed most of the times. But yes, do open the windows at both ends of the house during late evenings to allow the ventilation.
2) Use the ice-cubes
Take those ice-cubes from your refrigerator and put them in a bowl. Put that bowl in the room and switch on the fan. If you use coolers or table fans, then put the bowl in front of them. This will help circulate the cool air in the room and drop the temperature.
3) Use less and right lights
Avoid using yellow lights in the summers as they produce more heat. Instead, go for CFLs or LEDs and that too only when it's necessary. Switch off the lights when not in use so that the temperature in the room is maintained.
4) Opt for indoor plants
To keep the temperature inside the house low, use indoor plants. Put the shady plants on east and west sides of the house to block out the sunrays. You can also place vines and creepers on balconies and staircase to keep that area shady as well.
5) Use light colored sheets
We prefer not to wear black or dark colored clothes in summers as they trap more heat. Similarly, you shouldn't use thick material or dark shades on your bed or furniture during the hot season. Use light shade bed sheets and furniture covers. These will also reflect the light.
