Every year hundred and thousands of people try to summit the Everest; there can be various reason behind it many of them take it as a challenge while others just want to enjoy the view from the top of the world.
Mountains are formed because below the earth's crust the continental plates collide, as these plate moves under and around each other. These plates move 2-4 centimeter per year. When these two plates collide one pushes into or underneath the other that that collision causes an uplift and these uplifts today are called as mountains.
Mount Everest lies in the center of Indian-Eurasian collision zone.
These mountains are also formed by other forces apart from uplift, as the land is pushed up the air in the atmosphere also rises with it and this rising air cools down causing the air to condense which forms rain or snow.
And in the process of weathering it dissolves down rocks, water or snow doing downward carries the dissolves material with itself causing a land slide and as a result of these deep valleys are carved out of the mountains, giving them its shape.
Even climates also shapes mountains, the snow line in mount Everest is high and the glaciers are relatively small plus it is situated at an extra ordinary height as a result of that there is always a snow storm that covers it peaks.
And as the world is changing fast enough you don't know if Mount Everest will remain the tallest peak or not.
