Refrigerators, popularly known as fridges have been keeping our food items cool and fresh for many years and we all have a common belief that storing foodstuffs inside it keeps them fresher for a longer time period. You may be unaware but not all food items need to be in the fridge and should be evicted. 1. TOMATOES
Yes, don't be surprised, you heard it right! You probably store tomatoes inside the fridge to keep them cold and nice. But do you know, under extreme temperature, the membranes inside the tomatoes get damaged easily and they tend to lose their juiciness and flavor? Instead, keep them in a basket on the kitchen counter.
2. BREAD
We all put the bread inside the fridge. In fact, Bread is a common food item that is kept inside the refrigerator, until now. But you should avoid doing that, as cold and moist temperatures inside the fridge can change its structure and make it smelly and dry. Don't put the bread packet inside the fridge and try to finish it within a few days.
3. COOKED RICE
Keeping leftover cooked rice inside the fridge is not a great idea because it tends to become soggy and tasteless quickly due to cold temperatures. Apparently keeping cooked rice in the dry and open kitchen area or windowsill will keep them fresh. So, better leave it out!
4. GARLIC
The fridge is one of the biggest enemies of garlic. These food items do not even require any refrigeration. Putting them in cold temperatures will cause them to sprout and turn soggy. Instead, store it back in the kitchen counter.
