No matter how health-conscious you are, there are times, you cannot avoid junk or fried foods like potato chips, french fries, burgers, pizzas, and sweets. These foods are loaded with Trans fats & saturated fats, which may result in weight gain, elevated cholesterol levels & blood pressure, and increase the risk of heart diseases. So, what do you do? 1) Drink lukewarm water
Drinking lukewarm water after eating junk or fried foods helps soothe & activate the digestive system. Warm water helps to break down the nutrients and waste products into their digestible form. To flush out all the oil from the body, drink one or two glass of lukewarm water before the body gets dehydrated & constipated.
2) Say no to anything cold
It is also recommended to not drink or eat cold food items after heavy oily meals. While oily food is difficult to digest, eating anything cold after that can make digestion difficult, and which may cause bloating and indigestion.
3) Take a walk
Walking for 20 to 30 minutes after eating a large meal helps improve digestion. Brisk walks help aids digestion, promote better stomach motility, and may also help you shed those extra pounds. Also, it will give you a relaxed feeling.
4) Never go straight to bed
It is recommended to give a gap of at least 2-3 hours between dinner & bedtime. Going straight to bed immediately after a heavy oily meal makes food difficult to digest, and cause bloating and enhanced fat deposition.
